Marcelo Gleiser is a Brazilian-American theoretical physicist and astronomer, currently serving as the Appleton Professor of Natural Philosophy and a professor of physics and astronomy at Dartmouth College since 1991. He earned his bachelor's degree from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro in 1981, an M.Sc.
from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro in 1982, and a Ph.D. in Theoretical and Mathematical Physics from King's College London in 1986.
