Marc Lipsitch, born in 1969, is an American epidemiologist and professor. From January 2026, he will join Stanford University as the Berberian Professor in the Center for International Security and Cooperation (CISAC), with additional appointments in the Division of Infectious Diseases and Geographic Medicine in the School of Medicine, and the Department of Biology.
His research centers on the ecology, epidemiology, and evolution of infectious diseases.
