Manu S Pillai is an Indian writer and popular historian. He is the author of several books, including 'The Ivory Throne' (2015), which received the Sahitya Akademi Yuva Puraskar. His other published works include 'Rebel Sultans' (2018), 'The Courtesan, the Mahatma & the Italian Brahmin' (2019), 'False Allies: India's Maharajahs in the Age of Ravi Varma' (2021), and 'Gods, Guns and Missionaries: The Making of the Modern Hindu Identity' (2024).
Pillai holds a PhD from King's College London.
