Mahmoud Khalil, born in 1995, is an Algerian-Palestinian activist. He was born in a refugee camp in Syria to Palestinian parents and holds Algerian citizenship. Khalil organized protests against the Assad regime during the Syrian revolution, subsequently fleeing to Lebanon in 2013. In Lebanon, he worked for the United Kingdom's Foreign Office, where he managed a portion of its Chevening Scholarship program.
