Maarten Verwey is the Director General for Economic and Financial Affairs at the European Commission, a position he has held since February 2020. Prior to this, he accumulated extensive experience in senior management roles within the European Commission, starting in 2011, and at the Dutch Ministry of Finance.
Throughout his career, Verwey has been instrumental in several pivotal European initiatives.
