Luis Moreno Ocampo is an Argentine lawyer and jurist, widely recognized as the first Chief Prosecutor of the permanent International Criminal Court (ICC), based at The Hague, serving from 2003 to 2012. During his tenure, his office was involved in analyzing 17 situations globally and opening investigations in seven different countries, including Libya and Sudan. He successfully prosecuted three heads of state for crimes against humanity, notably the president of Sudan, Omar al-Bashir.
