Biography

Luc Laeven is the Director-General of the General Research Directorate at the European Central Bank (ECB), a role he has held since 2015. In this capacity, he leads a department of approximately 65 staff, overseeing economic research and providing research-based policy advice to the ECB's decision-making bodies on issues related to monetary policy, central bank operations, financial stability, and banking supervision.
