Biography

Lori Chavez-DeRemer serves as the United States Secretary of Labor, a position she assumed in 2025 following her confirmation by the U.S. Senate on March 10, 2025.

President-elect Donald Trump announced his intent to nominate her for the role on November 22, 2024. Before her cabinet appointment, Chavez-DeRemer represented Oregon's 5th congressional district as a U.S.
