Biography

Lloyd Alton Doggett II is an American lawyer and politician who has served in the United States House of Representatives from Texas since 1995. A member of the Democratic Party, Doggett previously served as a member of the Texas Senate from 1973 to 1985 and as a Justice of the Texas Supreme Court from 1989 to 1994. He represents the same district President Lyndon B. Johnson once represented and is the dean of Texas's congressional delegation.
