Lisa Cook is an American economist who was sworn in as a member of the Federal Reserve Board of Governors in 2022, becoming the first black woman to hold a seat on the board. Prior to this appointment, she was elected to the board of directors of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago in January 2022 and served as a research associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research.
