Biography

Linda-Gail Bekker is a Professor of Medicine and Chief Executive Officer of the Desmond Tutu Health Foundation. She also serves as Director of the Desmond Tutu HIV Centre at the University of Cape Town. From 2016 to 2018, she held the position of Past President of the International AIDS Society, where she delivered the opening address at the International AIDS Society Conference in Paris, discussing new prevention options like Pre-exposure prophylaxis.
