Lillian Li is a Chinese American author and the founder of the Chinese Characteristics newsletter. Her debut novel, *Number One Chinese Restaurant*, was recognized as an NPR Best Book of 2018 and was longlisted for both the Women's Prize for Fiction and the Center for Fiction First Novel Prize. She currently resides in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Born in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Li spent her formative years in Maryland.
