Lewis MacKenzie is a Royal Society University Research Fellow and Chancellor's Fellow in the Department of Pure and Applied Chemistry at the University of Strathclyde. His current research focuses on applying nanotechnology to develop improved methods for measuring blood oxygen levels through thick tissue. This work aims to reduce animal sacrifice in biomedical research, enhance sustainability, and provide more accurate data to biomedical researchers.
