Biography

Lawrence Lessig is a law professor at Harvard University and a cofounder of Creative Commons. In 2015, he formally announced his campaign for the Democratic Party's nomination for President of the United States in 2016, having raised $1 million for his exploratory committee. His campaign platform uniquely prioritized the Citizen Equality Act, a proposal combining campaign finance reform with measures to curb gerrymandering and ensure voting access.
