Lee Jae-myung is the 14th president of South Korea, serving since 2025. A member of the Democratic Party of Korea (DPK), he previously led the party while serving as a member of the National Assembly for Gyeyang B from 2022 to 2025. His prior political roles include governor of Gyeonggi from 2018 to 2021 and mayor of Seongnam from 2010 to 2018. Born in Andong, Lee grew up in poverty and began working at an early age.
