Lauren Greenfield is an American artist, documentary photographer, and filmmaker. She is the founder of Institute, established in 2009. Greenfield is recognized for her extensive body of work, which includes photographic monographs, documentary features, and series that explore cultural themes.

Born on June 28, 1966, in Boston, Massachusetts, Greenfield is the daughter of psychologist Patricia Marks Greenfield and physician Sheldon Greenfield.
