Biography

Lars Klingbeil is a prominent German politician who has served as the Vice Chancellor of Germany and Federal Minister of Finance since May 6, 2025. A long-standing member of the Social Democratic Party (SPD), he has also been the SPD's Co-leader since 2021, initially with Saskia Esken and currently with Bärbel Bas since 2025. He has represented the constituency of Rotenburg I / Heidekreis as a Member of the Bundestag since 2009, following an earlier term in 2005.
