Kwame Raoul is an American lawyer and politician who has served as the 42nd Attorney General of Illinois since 2019. A member of the Democratic Party, he previously represented the 13th district in the Illinois Senate from 2004 to 2019. He was initially appointed to fill the seat vacated by Barack Obama when Obama was elected to the U.S. Senate in 2004, and subsequently won election and reelection.
