Kurt Hackbarth is a writer, playwright, and bilingual freelance journalist. His work primarily focuses on Mexico and Latin America.

He is the author of two books of fiction and two plays. As a journalist, Hackbarth writes regularly for Jacobin Magazine and other publications, including The Nation and Editorial Funglode. He also previously served as a Senior Writer at Quatrain Creative. Hackbarth conducts workshops and conferences on politics and literature.
