Koenraad Lenaerts is a distinguished Belgian jurist who serves as the President of the Court of Justice of the European Union. Born in 1954, he has been a central figure in European law and governance for decades. In 2004, he was ennobled a baron by King Albert II of the Belgians.
Lenaerts' career at the European Court of Justice began in 1989 when he served as a Judge of the European Court of First Instance (now the General Court) until 2003.
