Kimberly Susan Budil is an American physicist and the 13th and current director of Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, making her the first woman to hold this position. She earned her bachelor's degree in physics from the University of Illinois Chicago in 1987, followed by a master's degree in 1988 and a doctorate in applied science in 1994, both from the University of California, Davis.
