Kendall Scudder is the current chair of the Texas Democratic Party, elected in March 2025 to a four-year term. At 35 years old, he is one of the youngest chairs of a state political party in the United States. Scudder grew up in Bowie County, rural northeast Texas, and graduated from Sulphur Springs High School in 2008. His early involvement in politics began in the early 2000s, campaigning against efforts to label LGBTQ+ individuals as unfit parents.
