Kaushik Basu is a Professor of Economics and C. Marks Professor at Cornell University. He is a Fellow of the Econometric Society and has received the Padma Bhushan, one of the highest civilian awards given by the President of India. His academic contributions span development economics, welfare economics, industrial organization, and game theory.
Prior to his current role, Basu served as the Chief Economist and Senior Vice President of the World Bank from 2012 to 2016.
