Biography

Katie Lam is a British Conservative politician, currently serving as the Member of Parliament for Weald of Kent and Opposition Assistant Whip since her election in summer 2024. She also holds the position of Shadow Home Office minister. Lam's family history significantly influenced her, with her paternal grandmother arriving in Britain in 1937 as a refugee from Germany, and her paternal grandfather's family, Dutch Jews, largely perishing in the Holocaust.
