Biography

Kate Rooney, born Kate Dennison on May 7, 1984, is an English former pole vaulter. Hailing from a sporting family in Durban, South Africa, she moved to Alsager, England, at age four and initially pursued gymnastics before transitioning to pole vault in 2000. Rooney became the first British junior athlete to clear 4.00 meters, achieving seventh place at the 2002 World Junior Championships in Kingston, Jamaica.
