Karan Bhatia is the Global Head of Government Affairs & Public Policy for Alphabet Inc. (Google), a position he currently holds. Prior to joining Google, he led government affairs for General Electric starting in 2008, following his extensive career in public service.
Bhatia served a total of six years in the Bush administration. From 2005 to 2007, he was the Deputy U.S. Trade Representative, where he is credited with leading the negotiation of the United States–Korea Free Trade Agreement.
