Julie Pullen is an American oceanographer and Earth system scientist with three decades of experience studying Earth's systems and responding to their insights. She began her career measuring ocean currents for the U.S.
Navy and later led the DHS National Maritime Security Center. She also served as an engineering professor and spent a Fulbright sabbatical observing extreme weather in the Philippines.
