Julia Vassileva is a Postdoctoral Fellow at Harvard University's Kennedy School, Belfer Center. Her work is at the intersection of international law and international security, where she focuses on how states employ legal norms as instruments of strategy and statecraft in security competition. She is the author of 'The Strategic Life of Norms', a book forthcoming with Cambridge University Press, and is currently working on a project concerning non-legally binding international agreements.
