Joshua David Angrist is an Israeli American economist and the Ford Professor of Economics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). In 2021, he was awarded the Nobel Memorial Prize in Economics, shared with Guido Imbens, for their methodological contributions to the analysis of causal relationships. Angrist is recognized for his work in labor economics, urban economics, econometrics, and the economics of education.
