Biography

Joe De Sena is the CEO and founder of Spartan and the Death Race, pioneering obstacle course racing. He is also a NY Times best selling author of "Spartan Up," "Spartan Fit," and "The Spartan Way," and co-authored "Extreme Balance." Growing up in Howard Beach, Queens, De Sena demonstrated early entrepreneurial spirit by building small businesses selling fireworks, t-shirts, and later a pool cleaning service, which he sold for $500,000. He attended Cornell University.
