John T. Stankey is an American businessman who serves as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of AT&T. He assumed the CEO role in July 2020, succeeding Randall L.

Stephenson, and was elected chairman in February 2025. In his current capacity, Stankey leads AT&T in its purpose to connect people through world-class 5G and fiber broadband capabilities, emphasizing connectivity and speed.
