John Karl Scholz is the 19th president of the University of Oregon, having started his tenure on July 1, 2023. In this role, he is committed to the university's mission as a public research institution, aiming to improve lives through education, curiosity-driven research, and community service.
Prior to leading the University of Oregon, Scholz served as the provost at the University of Wisconsin—Madison.
