John Sculley III is an American businessman, entrepreneur, and investor. He began his career at Marschalk Co. in New York City in 1963 before joining the Pepsi-Cola division of PepsiCo in 1967. During his time at PepsiCo, where he rose to vice-president (1970–1977) and then president (1977–1983), Sculley gained recognition as an expert in marketing, particularly for his introduction of the Pepsi Challenge, which helped the company gain market share from Coca-Cola.
