John Preskill is the Richard P. Feynman Professor of Theoretical Physics at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech), where he also serves as Director of the Institute for Quantum Information and Matter. Since 2020, he has been an Amazon Scholar affiliated with the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Center for Quantum Computing, located on the Caltech campus.
He received his Ph.D. in physics from Harvard University in 1980 and joined the Caltech faculty in 1983.
