John Phillip Lipsky is an American economist and a Senior Fellow at Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) since 2012, where he is also a distinguished visiting scholar. He is recognized for his extensive career in international economics and finance, notably serving as the acting managing director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) from May to July 2011, following the arrest of Dominique Strauss-Kahn.
