John Dau is a human rights activist from South Sudan and the President and Founder of the John Dau Foundation. He is recognized as one of the Lost Boys of Sudan, a group of children displaced by the Second Sudanese Civil War. His experiences as a refugee were documented in the 2006 award-winning film, 'God Grew Tired of Us,' and he co-authored a memoir of the same title, released in 2007.
Dau was born into the Dinka tribe in Sudan in 1974.
