Sir John Henry Butters (1885–1969) was an Australian electrical engineer born in Hampshire, England. He trained at Hartley College, Southampton, and moved to Australia in 1909. Butters served as Chief Engineer of the Tasmanian Hydro-electric Department from 1914 to 1924, a role for which he was appointed a Companion of the Order of St Michael and St George (CMG) in 1923.
