John B. Taylor is an American economist who holds the position of Mary and Robert Raymond Professor of Economics at Stanford University and is the George P. Shultz Senior Fellow in Economics at Stanford University's Hoover Institution. He is widely recognized for his significant contributions to economic theory and policy, notably developing the Taylor rule in 1993, which serves as a recommendation for how nominal interest rates should be determined by central banks.
