Biography

John Christopher Armitage is a British and Irish hedge fund manager. He is the co-founder and Chief Investment Officer of Egerton Capital, which he co-founded with William Bollinger in 1994. As of October 2024, Forbes estimated his net worth at US$1.5 billion. At the end of 2017, Egerton Capital had $18.8 billion in assets under management.

Armitage began his career at Morgan Grenfell in 1981, serving as a director of Morgan Grenfell Asset Management from March 1991 until his departure in 1994.
