Johan Rockström is a Swedish scientist internationally recognized for his work on global sustainability issues. He serves as the joint director of the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK) in Germany and is also the chief scientist at Conservation International. Rockström holds professorships in Earth System Science at the University of Potsdam and in Water Systems and Global Sustainability at Stockholm University.
