Joel Michael Mokyr is an American and Israeli economic historian, recognized as the Robert H. Strotz Professor of Arts and Sciences at Northwestern University. He also holds the position of Sackler Professorial Fellow at the Eitan Berglas School of Economics at Tel Aviv University. In 2025, he was awarded half a share of the Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences for his significant contributions in identifying the prerequisites for sustained growth through technological progress.
