Joël Mesot serves as the President of ETH Zurich, one of the world's leading universities, a position he has held since 2019. He is a highly regarded physicist and holds a professorship in physics at ETH Zurich.

Prior to his current role, Mesot was the Director of the Paul Scherrer Institute from 2008 to 2018. During his tenure, he strengthened its standing as one of Switzerland’s leading research centers for the natural sciences and engineering.
