John J. Kirton is a professor emeritus of Political Science at the University of Toronto, where he teaches Canadian foreign policy, global governance, and international relations. He is the founder and director of the G7 Research Group, and also directs the G20 Research Group and the Global Health Diplomacy Program. Additionally, he co-directs the BRICS Research Group, with all these initiatives operating under the Global Governance Program at Trinity College in the University of Toronto.
