James Edward Chalmers is an Australian politician currently serving as the Treasurer of Australia since 2022. A member of the Labor Party, he has represented the Queensland division of Rankin as a Member of Parliament since 2013.

Born in Brisbane in 1978, Chalmers holds a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Commerce from Griffith University, where he also earned First Class honours in public policy.
