Jere R. Behrman is the William R. Kenan, Jr. Professor of Economics and Sociology at the University of Pennsylvania, where he has been on the faculty since 1965. He earned his PhD from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1966. His research focuses on empirical microeconomics, economic development, labor economics, human resources, economic demography, and household behaviors.

Behrman has published over 415 professional articles and 35 books and monographs on these topics.
