Biography

Jeh Charles Johnson is an American lawyer and former government official. He served as the 4th United States Secretary of Homeland Security from 2013 to 2017 during the Obama administration. Prior to this, Johnson was the general counsel of the Department of Defense from 2009 to 2012 and the general counsel of the Department of the Air Force in 1998.

Before his extensive government service, Johnson built a career in private law practice and as a federal prosecutor.
