Jeffrey Mark Deskovic, born in 1973 in North Tarrytown, New York, is an American attorney known for his advocacy for the wrongly convicted. At 17, he was convicted in 1990 of the rape and murder of his Peekskill High School classmate, Angela Correa. During a months-long investigation, Deskovic made a false confession, which he immediately withdrew, but it became the basis for his conviction. He served 16 years in prison, maintaining his innocence throughout.
