Jeffrey Alexander "Jeff" Frankel is an international macroeconomist and currently holds the position of James W. Harpel Professor of Capital Formation and Growth at Harvard Kennedy School. He earned his B.A. in economics from Swarthmore College in 1974 and his Ph.D. from MIT in 1978.
Frankel began his academic career as an assistant professor at the University of Michigan and UC Berkeley, where he later became a full professor of economics. He joined Harvard in 1999.
