Jeffrey Alexander "Jeff" Frankel is an international macroeconomist and the James W. Harpel Professor of Capital Formation and Growth at Harvard Kennedy School. Born in San Francisco, California, in 1952, he earned his B.
A. in economics from Swarthmore College in 1974 and his Ph.D.
from MIT in 1978.
