Jean-Paul Servais is a Belgian national who serves as the Chair of the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO), an organization representing over 130 national authorities globally. He is also the Chairman of the Financial Services and Markets Authority (FSMA) in Belgium. He is the first Belgian to hold this top-level international position.
Servais holds degrees in law and economics.
